While I had been aware of the idea of the technological singularity from the mid nineties, mostly through Damian Broderick (and I had been inarticulately working on a similar theme for many years without much to show for it) the first time I came across it in fiction was in a novel of Ken Macleod's, A Stone Canal.

So I am very chuffed to have a piece of flash fiction, some 'lablit', accepted by Ken for The Human Genre Project.

Smashwords e-book versions of .before Country now available

Apparently smashwords' epub format ebooks will appear in Sony's e-store.

So I've done a little eediting this eevening and produced a version of the paperback.before Country (or here)with which I explored POD self-publishing some years ago on lulu.com. Never sold a copy. Got shit poured upon me. Precious peeps are worse than puritains.

I've only looked at the Palm .pdb version and the bold, italics (used twice) and differing font for some headings are gone, as is some right justification. It's okay though. Wonder how I'll check out the ePub version, hmmm, now who has an iphone with Stanza???
